How to Run Your First Inbox Placement Test
The Inbox Placement Test simulates a real email campaign to show you where your message is most likely to land. This is the most accurate way to see how major providers like Gmail and Outlook will treat your emails.
Why This Test is Different
This test requires two extra steps: including a Test ID and sending to a "seed list" of our email addresses. The Test ID allows us to track that specific email across different servers, and the seed list contains mailboxes at all the major providers, giving you a complete picture of your placement.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Log in to your Unspam.email account.
- From the main menu, select the Inbox Placement.
- Click the Start New Test button.
- In the Choose Inbox Providers, select the email services where you want to test your email delivery. Unspam.email will send test messages to their predefined addresses for each selected provider.
- The system will generate a unique Test ID. Click the Copy button next to this ID.
- Open your email marketing platform (e.g., Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, Brevo, etc.) or your email client (like Gmail or Outlook).
- Create your email campaign or message and paste the Test ID anywhere in the email body.
- Return to the Unspam.email page. You will see a list of test email addresses. Copy all the test email addresses.
- Go back to your email marketing tool, and in the "To" or "Recipient" field, paste the entire list of test addresses.
- Send your email.
- Return to the Unspam.email page. The results table will begin to fill in as our test inboxes receive your email. This can take a few minutes.

Note:
This test works with any email marketing platform—including tools like Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, Brevo, and others. It can also be used from regular email clients like Gmail or Outlook. Just send your email to the unique address we provide, and you're good to go!
